At Tennell Elite Training, my programs are specifically developed to train both an athlete’s body and mind to achieve its greatest potential. I work to help my athletes gain the physical strength and skills to compete against other elite youth athletes. I also guide my athletes to cultivate the mental strength and resilience necessary to overtake their opponents and compete under pressure.
I know that it’s not enough just to put in the time on the field. Athletes need specific guidance and training on the movements and techniques that will bring their gameplay to the next level.
My program includes all the tools to improve an athlete’s game in every area. I focus on linear speed, acceleration speed, agility, lateral movements, footwork, rapid response drills, change of direction mechanics, and other position specific elements. Each athlete on an elite team has a specific role. I work to help youth understand the roles, movements and skills most necessary to get the job done.
While my program focuses on bringing out the best in all athletes, I also have the unique needs of younger athletes in mind. Through my training, I help to prevent injuries by strengthening the weaker or more injury prone areas. For example, lower back pain is often caused by weak abdominal muscles, bad posture, or lack of flexibility. Exercises designed to strengthen core muscles and increase flexibility will help prevent injuries.
